Singing Actors' Lab is the production and group classes arm of ZajacStudio, Inc. The mission of SAL is to bring the best of both worlds from acting and classical singing to a "no compromises" well rounded performance where acting choices support the vocal technique and vice versa. We have produced full productions of Stephen Sonheim's
Sweeney Todd (2003), Stravinsky's
The Rakes Progress (2004), and
Hansel & Gretel (2007) among many others. We have also produced a series of concerts in Los Angeles at Le Petit Greek and a countless array of master classes throughout the country.

To all the participants at Opera in the Ozarks:
I had such a great time working with each and every one of you this past week in Eureka Springs. As promised, here are some downloads for your information to help further you career goals. I also have included links to an amazing advisor that you all should get to know, Bonnie Gillespie. Bonnie is a casting director in the film and television medium but all of her information translates extremely well to any performing artist needing to navigate the malestrom of the “biz.”
This first article of Bonnie’s is on FACEBOOK and social networking. As we discussed at legnth in the career seminar on Sunday it is of utmost importance that you take control of you social site pages and use them to help you NOT hurt your career goals:
Bonnie Gillespie: Social Networking and Acting
ALL of Bonnie’s articles on Showfax/Actors Access are total gems chock-full of brilliant info, browse though and soak up up the knowedge!

Here is a Résumé template for young singers originally put together through years of experience by Susan Ormont of the Auditions Project in New York. You can still be creative with your materials it is imperative that all the information is on there and clearly readable.

Here is a list of the most performed Oratorio/Concert repertoire originally compiled by Larry Wasserman, former President of Thea Dispeker Inc. Artists Management.

Here is AFI’s (American Film Institute) list of the 100 greatest movies of all time. WATCH ALL OF THEM!!!!! You need to begin to build a frame of reference. You are storytellers of human behavior and you all need to study the human condition. AND, for god’s sake, pick up a newspaper now and then or read a news site. Watching youtube videos of opera performances only makes you a parrot regurgiating someone else’s performance, you need to begin to develop your OWN POV (point of view). Tell YOUR story. That is how you will be hired over someone else, your INDIVIDUALITY!
