ZajacStudio Inc Vocal Technique

Summer 2010!

Joann C. Zajac has been teaching her precise and reliable method to singers for over forty years. As a Soprano, she has sung over fifty major operatic roles, her voice being described as "vocal perfection", "resilient and easeful", "master of the verismo chest voice declamation", "exciting high notes", "warm middle range" and "an extraordinary voice". She debuted as Mozart's "The Queen of the Night" in Die Zauberflote at the age of eighteen. As her voice matured, she took on the very challenging Lyrico-Spinto repertoire. Her portrayal of "Madama Butterfly" was called utterly perfect, with "heroic nobility, childlike vulnerability, and basic artistic integrity".

"We so appreciate all that you do for Julia, and for all of your singers. You are truly gifted as a teacher -- not just technically, but also as a person. It's really beautiful to see how you help shape their perceptions of themselves in the process. As one who works with lots of singers from all over the country, I do hear a lot of damaged voices and damaged souls. It's gratifying to know you're doing something wonderful for so many. Thank you."
